July 30, 2016 - Tokyo, Japan: A giant Godzilla head in the Shinjuku district towers 52 meters (170 ft.) above the street. It is part of a movie theater and entertainment complex owned by Toho Co. Ltd., the maker of the Godzilla film franchise. The street leading up to this complex is called "Godzilla Road", located in one of the biggest entertainment districts of Tokyo known as Kabuki-cho. This neighborhood is very similar to New York's Times Square as up until recently, it was a sleazy red light district. Now it's being redeveloped into a popular tourist destination that's clean and family friendly. The latest Godzilla film which is currently playing here is entitled "Godzilla Resurgence" (Japanese title "Shin Godzilla"). It was released nationwide in Japan on July, 29, 2016 and is the 29th film in Toho's Godzilla franchise. The first Godzilla film was released by Toho in 1954.
