Les souverains réalisent la première visite de l'Etat belge en Afrique depuis 44 ans.

Le roi Philippe et la reine Mathilde en Afrique du Sud avec le président Cyril Ramaphosa et la ministre Lindiwe Zulu

Ce mercredi, le roi Philippe et la reine Mathilde ont décollé pour l'Afrique du Sud où ils visiteront les villes de Pretoria, Johannesburg et Le Cap.

Ils sont accompagnés d'Hadja Lahbib, ministre fédérale des Affaires étrangères, d'Elio Di Rupo et Rudi Vervoort, respectivement ministre-président de Wallonie et de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale, ainsi que d'une importante délégation de chefs d'entreprise et représentants du monde académique.

Le roi et la reine sont bien arrivés en Afrique du Sud où ils ont été accueillis, comme le veut la tradition, avec une belle haie d'honneur au Freedom park de Pretoria.

Par ce voyage, la Belgique vise à améliorer ses relations avec l'Afrique du Sud, qui abrite la plus grande communauté belge d'Afrique.

Ce jeudi, les souverains belges ont également rencontré le président sud-africain Cyril Ramaphosa.
